The principal Richard Vaughan Ellis  Dip Arch MA, RIBA, is registered with the Architects Registration Board, established the practice Ellis Associates Architects in 1983,  which became  a member of the RIBA Chartered Practice scheme introduced in 2008.

Over time,  the Practice has built up a wealth of experience with a variety of projects,  being primarily residential and commercial.  It's main objective is to  provide an all round  bespoke service to discerning clients,  including   business owners,  healthcare providers,  residential developers or private householders,  and to  exceed client expectations.

This applies whether projects involve  new-build developments,  or the conversion,  refurbishment  or  extensions to existing buildings.

The Practice always works closely alongside clients,  guiding them through the complexities of the building procurement process,  from initial concept design,   preparing specifications,  and managing the project on site until completion of the works.

From the small scale,  the Practice will carry out larger projects as required,  and In addition it has experience of work in  Conservation Areas and on Listed Buildings.

Whatever the type of project,  the Practice aims to find design solutions to satisfy the client’s brief,  and  does not seek to impose or dictate a design ethos.  Otherwise the Practice is mindful of current sustainability issues, and approaches projects holistically.
